Thanks! Share it with your friends!

The Kingdom of Soissons was supposedly a Roman rump state or successor kingdom led first by Aegidius, a Roman general, and then by his son Syagrius. According to Gregory of Tours, writing a bit after thiese events took place in the late 400s, Clovis, King of the Franks, defeated Syagrius at the battle of Soissons in 486, and created the Kingdom of the Franks. But how much truth is ther to this? The asnwer is that we don’t really know, owing to the paucity of source material.
