Cardstock, poster board, manila file folder, or any other thin cardboard (like from a cereal box or the bottom of a shopping bag) that is easy to cut
Tracing paper (light-colored tissue paper or other see-through paper can also be used)
White construction paper or computer paper
Black fine-tip marker or pen
Markers, crayons, or colored pencils

Optional Items

Transfer paper or carbon paper
Patterned scrapbook paper
Fabric scraps
Magnetic strips
Embellishments, such as washi tape, jewels, etc.
