Queering Your Craft. Witchcraft From the Margins, was written by professional magickal arts practitioner Cassandra Snow. In her interview with host Stan Mallow on the YouTube show ParanormalYakker.com she talks about her book. Cassandra tells Stan when she first became interested in witchcraft and what there was about witchcraft that drew her to it. She also explains why she felt it was important that a book be written about witchcraft for practitioners of the craft, be they novices or long-time practitioners, who had a common denominator; that being they have been marginalized for the most part by mainstream society. One would think that witchcraft, something that has long been on the fringe of society would have practitioners who are understanding, open minded and believe the craft should be inclusive. That is not the case. Cassandra explains the possible reasons for that. In Queering Your Craft Casandra includes a Queer Witch Manifesto. In her interview with Stan, she summarizes the manifesto and gives her reasons for including it. There are different types of makick. They are performed in different ways and serve different purposes. Cassandra reveals which magickal rituals she finds herself using most often in her own life. In many books on witchcraft is advised that spells and rituals conclude with the phrase โ€œand it harm noneโ€. Cassandra disagrees, and gives her reasons for that. Cassandra also gives advice to those who want to pursue witchcraft but are not sure as to the best way to go about it. Cassandra tells which rituals could be dangerous if performed by an inexperienced practitioner of witchcraft and, therefore, should be avoided. Further Cassandra talks about her involvement with the LGBTQ+ community, her other book, Queering the Tarot, and her active involvement with Gadfly Theatre Productions, a feminist theatre company.
